If you plan to use your projector in a room where total darkness is possible, a white screen is your best bet. When used in a room with total darkness, a good white screen will reflect the projector's image colors most accurately. Consider your application when choosing between flexible, tension-mounted material and a non-tensioned, thicker, stiffer material. Some materials are easier than others to install so keep that in mind when selecting it. Stretchy screens (FlexiWhite and Blackout Cloth) easily stretch or staple over a frame or can also be folded for portable applications. Stiff screens (ProWhite and Ultra-White) are perfect for roll down applications or glue-down applications. Note: stiff screens can also be stretched over a frame but are harder to get stretched perfectly flat. When done well, though, the results are fantastic!

If you are planning to place speakers behind your screen, an Acoustically Transparent screen will be your best option.

If you are planning to place your projector behind your screen, a Rear Projection screen will be your best option. While traditional materials are opaque and do not allow light to pass through, a rear projection film has a unique translucent quality.
